… when I was 56 years old! I couldn’t be happier!
I’m Bob McCluskey and it is true that Marcia and I were matched by an on-line singles website. We just had our tenth anniversary! You’ve heard the old saying, “There are lots of fish in the sea.” Well, if it seems like you are living in a small pond, the Internet can introduce you to people who match your interests from all over the world! When I had my first contact with Marcia I was in the United States and she was in Canada. After some e-mails and phone conversations, we decided to meet. The rest, as they say, is history!

I recently came across a website called Serene Ambition, subtitled “boomers in transition.” I enjoy reading it very much and I am going to add it to my blogroll. I also want to recommend it to my readers.
The blog proprietor, Jim Selman, impresses me for one main reason: He is a middle-aged (young, to me…) man who is seriously considering and planning his later years. As many of you know I’m am fond of adapting the slogan made popular by American musician Eubie Blake: “If I’d known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself.” As my own life slips by I find that comment less and less amusing. I spend quite a bit of my writing effort trying to convince my readers that taking better care of themselves is the best way to ensure truly golden years.
Jim says,
I have no agenda for this blog other than hopefully to stimulate as much conversation and action as possible around the subject and issues of growing older and the possibilities we can create. My motto is “let’s clean up the mess before we die”.
He covers lots of great topics for aspiring seniors. He has lots of great guest writers to bring a diversity of viewpoints. He also recommends some great books for those who are inspired to live not only longer, but better.
There is no anti-aging formula that beats the intellectual nourishment that good writing feeds your brain. Take a look at Serene Ambition and, if you agree with me, subscribe and get your dose of longevity whenever it is published. By the way, I am tagging this post under “religion.” I hope neither Jim nor my readers will take exception to that. This is a spiritual matter to me!
